"An original Wurlitzer organ holds pride of place, purchased as a showpiece in the theatre’s early days for a then-princely price tag of $28,000. With the popularization of the “talkies” a couple of years later, the instrument rapidly fell out of fashion… yet the Lincoln Theatre managed to hold onto its prized possession long enough for a new generation to recognize its value as an heirloom from a simpler time."

So reads "The Secret Cinema," an April 1st addition to the Lincoln Now website that shares the history of the Lincoln Theater in Washington. The theater currently shows a range of films and some concerts, making thought-provoking art available to the community.

Do you have any artsy plans on your calendar this weekend? If so, arrive at the museum or theater in style in a new Lincoln. Come out to Causeway Lincoln at 375 Route 72 in Manahawkin and take one for a test drive.
