Backed by over a hundred years of experience working in the automotive industry, the Lincoln Motor Company knows what it takes to build vehicles that will last. The proof lies with their older models, and who knows better than an auto collector? The editors over at Lincoln Now met up with one such individual named Thomas Askounis who shared with them the story behind his prized 1956 Lincoln Premiere Sedan.
He was only a boy when he first laid his eyes on the 1956 Premiere, he explains. "This was the year they really went all out on style." Unique styling was strongly emphasized during that era, and the Premiere showcases just that. This model in particular was designed around an aquatic theme, as can be seen through design cues that suggest waterfalls and shark fins. Finished with a blend of subtle curves, sharp angles, chrome accents, and a pop of color, this Lincoln is unmistakably gorgeous and is sure to draw the attention from the crowd even in today's market. "It's amazing to see the details," the collector says of his sedan. "They did all this design and everything else pre-computer age," and that fact alone is an impressive feat indeed. These are the kinds of stories that keep Lincoln in the spotlight.
